Hours: Mon–Fri, 8:00am–5:00pm
Location: Stratford – with regular regional travel & WFH flexibility
Our client, a leading provider of integrated facilities management and infrastructure solutions is hiring for an experienced and proactive Fire Door Inspector to join our compliance and lifecycle team, managing approximately 2,000 fire door assets across various public sector sites.
The role combines technical inspections, data management, and oversight of remedial and lifecycle works, offering a clear development route towards management. This is a mobile position covering a variety of framework contracts focused on education and leisure – covering the London Stadium, UCL Campus in Stratford (main contract), Medway Police Station and PFI contracts in Croydon, Swindon & Newport.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out comprehensive fire door inspections in accordance with BS 8214, BS 9999, and all current fire safety legislation.
- Record and report findings accurately using Fieldwire software, including tagging, photographic evidence, and defect logging.
- Analyse inspection data to identify trends, prioritise risks, and inform lifecycle replacement programmes.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage remedial repair works, ensuring all actions meet compliance standards and are completed within agreed timeframes.
- Develop and manage the PPM programme post-inspection, maintaining consistent compliance across circa 2,000 assets.
- Produce detailed inspection and compliance reports to support asset management and client assurance.
Requirements
- Qualified Fire Door Inspector (FDIS, FIRAS, or equivalent).
- Demonstrable experience inspecting, repairing, and managing fire door compliance programmes.
- Strong understanding of passive fire protection and building safety regulations.
- Confident in the use of Fieldwire or similar digital compliance tools.
- Excellent data handling and reporting capabilities for asset tracking and performance analysis.
- Experience in coordinating remedial and lifecycle projects.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally.
