About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Product Development Engineer (Electronics) to join the R&D electronics engineering team at Siemens' award‑winning Congleton site, part of the Motion Control (MC) division.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of Sinamics G products within a collaborative, cross‑functional product development environment. We are looking for a creative, curious engineer with strong technical expertise and a passion for solving complex design challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Work within a cross-functional product development team.
- Contribute to product specifications, concept development, and project planning.
- Design electronic and power circuits, including for 400V 3‑phase systems.
- Ensure designs meet high-volume manufacturing requirements and cost targets.
- Carry out product integration, validation, and simulation testing.
- Support product introduction into manufacturing.
- Assist with regulatory approvals (e.g., UL certification).
- Drive product support and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Track emerging technologies and engineering techniques.
- Collaborate with global teams and suppliers to implement design changes without disrupting production.
- Manage and report progress against project timelines.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience across the full product development lifecycle (concept to launch).
- Strong knowledge of:
- Power electronics design (ideally AC drives / industrial systems).
- Analogue and digital circuit design.
- Design validation, prototyping, and compliance with international standards.
- EMC design and testing.
- Experience designing for high-volume manufacture and cost optimisation.
- Proficiency in CAD tools for schematic and PCB layout design
(Zuken CR8000 experience desirable). - Familiarity with simulation tools, power loss analysis, and timing/lifecycle analysis.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
